Restorative Dental Care at Smiles By Mia
Our restorative treatments focus on bringing back the function and look of your teeth and gums. Keeping your mouth healthy is important for preventing bigger dental problems later on. With our digital imaging tools, we create precise treatment plans to meet your needs, making sure you feel comfortable and well cared for.
Dental Bridge
A dental bridge fills in the gap left by one or more missing teeth. We can use either crown-capped teeth or dental implants to support the bridge. We often recommend dental implants because they provide strong support by anchoring the bridge to the jawbone. Implant-secured bridges last longer than removable ones.
To learn more about our dental bridge treatment, see Dental Bridge.
Dental Crown
A dental crown is a cap that covers damaged, worn, or crooked teeth. These strong porcelain caps blend with your natural teeth and add strength to them. We also use crowns to cap off dental implants. To learn more about using dental crowns to repair your damaged teeth, see Dental Crown.
Dental Implants
A dental implant is a titanium post that a surgeon places in the jawbone to hold a dental restoration like a crown, bridge, or denture. Implants provide long-lasting support and improve your bite. To learn more about replacing your lost teeth with dental implants, see Dental Implants.
Full and Partial Dentures
Dentures are used to replace rows or arches of missing teeth. While traditional dentures are removable, we recommend implant-secured dentures for more stability. They allow you to bite and chew more naturally. To learn more about our dentures procedure, see Dentures & Partials.
Gum Disease Treatment
Gum disease, also called periodontitis, is a serious bacterial infection that harms the gum tissue. To treat this, we offer deep cleanings, antibacterial rinses, and laser therapy. Laser therapy not only removes infected gum tissue but also helps healthy gum tissue grow back. For more details on how we treat gum disease, see Periodontal Disease Treatment.
TMJ Disorders
The temporomandibular joints (TMJ) connect your jawbone to your skull. When these joints are damaged or under stress, it can cause TMJ disorders (TMD). People with TMJ disorders may have jaw and tooth pain, chronic headaches, and may clench or grind their teeth.
Night guards can help if you clench and grind your teeth because of TMD. To learn more about TMD treatments, see TMJ Treatment.
Restorative Dental Care Q&A
Restorative dentistry focuses on bringing your teeth back to their healthy state. Here are answers to some common questions about this type of care.
Do bleeding gums mean I have gum disease?
Bleeding gums often mean your gums are inflamed, which is a sign of gingivitis, an early stage of gum disease. If your gums bleed when you brush or floss, you need to keep taking care of your smile to prevent gum disease. We suggest gently flossing and brushing your teeth daily. Flossing once and brushing twice a day can stop bleeding gums and keep gum disease from getting worse.
How long do dental implants last?
Dental implant posts are permanent. If you take good care of your dental restorations, your implants can last a lifetime. However, if you smoke or have tooth decay or gum disease, you might lose your implants. It’s important to clean your restorations, gums, and natural teeth properly.
Do I need a dental bridge or partial denture?
A dental bridge can replace one or more missing teeth in a row. Partial dentures can replace larger areas of missing teeth in different parts of your mouth. We’ll check your smile to see if a bridge or partial denture is right for you. In both cases, we recommend using dental implants to secure the bridge or denture for longer-lasting results.
